Two peas in pod! This sibling group is the combination of two unique siblings who make the perfect pair for a family willing to give a lot of love.

Vanessa tends to be a somewhat quiet and reserved girl when you first meet her, but as she warms up and gets to know you, you’ll learn that she’s very affectionate and caring especially towards her little brother, Hunter! She enjoys listening to the radio with her headset on. Not only is this a favorite past time for Vanessa, but is also serves as a coping skill when she feels overwhelmed. Her favorite station to listen to is the country music station. She also loves the movie “Frozen” and enjoys watching music videos on YouTube.

Vanessa currently lives in a foster home with five other children. She’s the oldest of all the children and gets along great with her younger foster siblings. She’s helpful around the house and her chores include unloading the dishwasher and setting the table for dinner. Her foster mother describes her as “a joy to have in the home.” The family also has a number of pets including six kittens that were recently born! Vanessa does well with all of the pets in the home and enjoys caring for them.

Vanessa is currently a senior in high school and participates in the Life Skills program. Though she’s not a big fan of science, she does enjoy math. She hopes to attend a vocational school after high school to learn a skill and obtain employment.

Vanessa attends church weekly with her foster family and enjoys the services. Her foster mother describes the church service as “lively” and “very contemporary.” Vanessa looks forward to being with a family she can do activities within the community.

Younger brother Hunter is full of energy with a great imagination and sense of humor. He loves dinosaurs, Lego blocks, and playing football. He’s on a youth football team and loves getting to play with his teammates. When he’s not on the football field, he enjoys playing at the playground and making new friends. He also likes to play on the computer.

Hunter loves going to school and does well academically. He says his favorite part of the school day is recess. At his foster home, Hunter enjoys helping around the house with chores and tasks. He also attends church weekly with his foster family.

Vanessa and Hunter have additional siblings whom they visit with whenever possible. The hope is that these sibling visits could take place at least once a month. Vanessa and Hunter have no contact with their birth parents. Vanessa and Hunter are a resilient sibling group. Although they’re in separate foster homes at the moment, they hope to find a family who will love them both equally amidst their unique personalities.
